Environmental Engineer - Project Technical Leader CDM Smith - 3.8 Dallas, TX Job Details Full-time 3 hours ago Qualifications Driver's License Professional Engineer Full Job Description We are seeking a Project Technical Leader based in Dallas/DFW, to assist in the delivery of water treatment facilities of moderate to high complexity throughout Texas and nationwide as opportunities arise. In this role you will have the following responsibilities: Leads teams in the design and delivery of water treatment facilities and related infrastructure, providing technical oversight and serving as engineer-of-record for process modeling and construction documentation. Alternative delivery experience such as progressive design build is a plus. Reviews draft design and reports for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and signs off on completed designs. Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs. Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications. Updates design requirements as necessary. Performs water quality analyses and modeling. Contributes to firm's Technical Knowledge Management by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc. Submits technical papers and designs for publishing in technical journals. Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs). Reviews draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations, and best practices. Proactively meets with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs. Attends conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff. May act as a point of contact for external client and related industry contact. Collaborates with clients and government officials to clarify technical questions, providing updates to project management as necessary. Performs other duties as required. Provides technical guidance and training for more junior staff. Mentors more junior staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm. #LI-JR1#LI-HYBRID Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. Professional engineering (PE) license. 12 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Driver's License Requirements An appropriate and valid driver's license is required. Amount of Travel Required 15% Skills and Abilities Comprehensive knowledge and multi-discipline experience in planning, designing, and managing large-scale projects. Strong self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with clients and employees effectively, persuasively, and tactfully at all levels. Ability to leverage a matrix organization to build relationships and drive desired results Ability to understand highly complex technical, professional, and business materials.
