Role:
The IT Support Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of our Mission's IT infrastructure. This position is responsible for providing timely and effective technical support to fellow users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime. The specialist will manage and maintain network connectivity, including cabling and configuration, to support seamless communication and data exchange. They will also have administrative access of Microsoft Windows environments and Microsoft Exchange servers, ensuring security and optimal performance. Ultimately, this role aims to enhance user productivity and maintain a secure, efficient IT environment across the organization. A member in this role is expected to adhere to our organization's religious practices and values.
What You Will Do:
Provide first-line technical support to end-users via help desk, phone, email, or remote access tools. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network connectivity, software applications, and hardware devices including mobile devices. Administer and maintain Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Exchange environments. Perform network cabling tasks and ensure proper network infrastructure setup and maintenance. Conduct remote troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve technical problems efficiently. Document support activities, maintain inventory of IT assets, and report complex issues to the IT Director as needed. Assist in the deployment, configuration, and upgrading of IT equipment and software.
What You Will Bring:
Associate degree in Information Technology/Computer Science (or a related field) and/or equivalent work experience. Proven experience in network administration and support within a Microsoft Windows environment. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Exchange server management. Experience with help desk support and remote troubleshooting tools. Familiarity with network cabling standards and network connectivity troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as CompTIA Network+,
Microsoft Certified:
Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or similar. Experience supporting mobile devices in a corporate environment. Knowledge of advanced network security principles and practices. Experience with scripting or automation tools to streamline support tasks. Prior experience working in a fast-paced IT support or managed services environment.
Skills:
The IT Support Specialist will utilize network administration skills daily to maintain/troubleshoot network connectivity and cabling issues. This is required to ensure reliable communication channels; the following skills are needed to complete the job-load: Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Exchange is essential for managing user accounts, permissions, and email services effectively. Help desk and remote troubleshooting skills enable the specialist to quickly diagnose and resolve user issues, minimizing downtime and improving user satisfaction. Knowledge of mobile device management supports the growing need for secure and efficient mobile access within the Mission.
