Job Description

Under general direction of the IT Manager-Applications, the IT Applications Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining business-specific enterprise applications, this includes the testing, troubleshooting, scheduling, deployment, security and support of application patches and upgrades. This information is intended to be descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position. The following examples do not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent. This position has responsibilities that require lifting up to 10 pounds on occasion. Support of upgrades, software patches, system configuration and administration, troubleshooting, testing, and daily monitoring of key infrastructure and third party applications throughout the application life cycle. Provides customer support and assists in working with internal IT teams and technology vendors to ensure all systems are available and secure on a 24 by 7 basis. Develops and ensures updates to technical and/or user documentation of systems, processes, troubleshooting steps, etc. Participates in the evaluation and selection process for application packages. Collects requirements and performs analysis on 3 rd party solutions for internal business processes. Develops and ensures updates to technical and/or user documentation of systems, processes, troubleshooting steps, etc. Interacts with all IT divisions to assist in resolving problems with software products or systems. All other duties as assigned by the Application Services manager. Regular and consistent attendance and punctuality for the assigned work hours is essential. Any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may qualify. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be:
Education:
Associate's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related discipline, or the equivalent in experience.
Experience:
Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in the area of application specialization.
Licenses:
Valid Driver's License required.
Certifications Required :
Familiarity with ITIL (Certification is preferred or ability to certify within 6 months of hire).
