Support Center Specialist (Help Desk•Tier 1/2) Contract-to-Hire | Onsite•Houston, TX 77064
Pay:
$25•30/HR We are seeking a motivated Support Center Specialist to join a fast-paced IT support team. This role serves as the first point of contact for end users, providing technical assistance across hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues. If you enjoy troubleshooting, helping users, and working in a collaborative IT environment, this is a great opportunity to grow your technical career. This position is contract-to-hire and fully onsite (5 days/week) in Houston, TX. What You'll Do Provide Tier 1 technical support via phone and email Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving hardware, software, networking, printers, and connectivity Support user access issues, VPN/Citrix remote connectivity, and basic system administration tasks Install, configure, and update software applications as needed Accurately log, track, and document all incidents in the ticketing system Escalate complex issues to Tier 2/3 teams when appropriate Follow up with users to ensure issues are fully resolved Assist with IT projects including deployments, upgrades, and testing Maintain and contribute to internal knowledge base documentation Collaborate with IT team members to improve processes and service delivery What We're Looking For 1-2 years of IT support / help desk experience (phone-based support preferred) Basic understanding of networking (LAN/WAN, connectivity troubleshooting) Experience supporting remote users (VPN, Citrix, or similar tools) Strong communication skills and professional phone/email etiquette Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume support environment Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred HDI/STI certification is a plus Schedule & Expectations Onsite role in Houston, TX (77064) Must be open to after-hours, weekend, or holiday support rotation as needed Team-oriented environment with opportunities to grow into higher-level IT roles
