Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused PC Technician to join our IT team. This position serves as the primary Help Desk contact for employees, providing technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, deploying end-user devices, and assisting with network and telecommunications infrastructure. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and highly organized, with a passion for solving problems and helping others. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate initiative and a commitment to learning new technologies, approach technical challenges with creativity and strong problem-solving skills, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
Act as the Help Desk IT contact by answering phone calls and actively assisting with their daily technical problems and inquiries. Troubleshoot, repair, and deploy end-user devices, hardware, and peripherals. Assist with network, software, and equipment installations and maintenance. Support voice and data networks by installing and terminating telecommunications cabling. Maintain and update IT asset management systems, including equipment inventory, assignments, and lifecycle tracking. Assist with Active Directory and basic network administration tasks. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements. Participate in departmental projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Perform additional duties as assigned by IT management. Additional Responsibilities Be a highly organized self-starter that thrives in a growing and changing team environment. Education/ Experience:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with two years of college coursework preferred. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience terminating network cables (RJ45), a foundational understanding of IoT devices and concepts, and a demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customer service. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, particularly related to asset tracking and inventory management, are essential. Relevant technical experience may be gained through professional employment, education, certifications, or personal technical projects.
Technical Skills and Competencies:
Candidates should be proficient in using and maintaining IT Asset Management systems and possess strong troubleshooting skills in a Windows environment. Basic knowledge of Mac OS and Linux operating systems is preferred. Familiarity with Active Directory, Network Administration, and Systems Administration is desirable. Industry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent credentials are highly preferred and demonstrate a strong foundation in information technology support and infrastructure management.
