The Technology Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining and developing MAPF's key internal business applications. The primary purpose of the position is to support, troubleshoot, and where appropriate develop / enhance, business applications and reports to provide staff with access to reliable, fit for purpose systems. The role is also responsible for promoting and expanding the use of applications within the business.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Support and maintain IT business applications to ensure a reliable and secure service. Receive and log requests for support in a Tech Ticketing system. Investigating and resolving application errors and data discrepancies. Report troubleshoot and escalate system faults to ensure a prompt resolution. Take part in user meetings, assist in presenting issues and solutions both orally and in writing. Monitor progress of requests for support and ensure users and other interested parties are kept informed. Ensure all work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures. Support the implementation of system upgrades to ensure applications remain compliant and aligned to business requirements. Work with the IT Manager in identifying and proposing application system changes, better uses, enhancements and developments and liaising with appropriate vendors, users and the IT team. Support other areas of IT in the implementation of new business applications and projects. Assist in supporting of applications after implementation by providing daily support, training, and other support tasks. Must be available for off-hour emergency calls and consultations. Maintain a high level of customer service and friendly atmosphere. Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times. Maintain a team environment at all times and champion MAPF in the community. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Previous computer technical support preferred. A+, MCP, Dell or other industry identified certifications are preferred. Strong knowledge of Network troubleshooting, including connectivity issues, locating IP orTCP/IP addresses, VPN software, supporting remote users. Understanding of Active Directory to unlock and reset passwords. Proficient with troubleshooting all Windows Operating systems. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve email issues, specifically MS Outlook. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing. Outstanding customer skills, with the ability to empathize and professionally troubleshoot and resolve customer's issues. Ability to document and track technology related issues. An understanding of relational database concepts Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to adapt to change.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
This position is largely self-directed and requires a thorough understanding of company policy, procedures, and values. This position will be required to adhere to all safety requirements at all times and in all work environments. This position operates in both an office and manufacturing environment. Occasionally lifting weights of fifty (50) pounds or less. Occasionally climbing ladders and stairwells. Occasionally sitting for long periods of time.
