N/A Primary Purpose:

Computer Technicians provide on-site hardware and software support for ECISD's desktop and mobile computer systems and electronic devices.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High School Diploma or GED from an accredited HS or GED Program Degrees and certifications preferred, not required.

Special Knowledge Skills:

Logical troubleshooting skills. Leadership abilities and/or experience. Ability to be self-sufficient and self-taught. Ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to work well in a fast paced environment. • Customer service skills. Knowledge of computer systems, software, and networks - including, but not limited to Microsoft operating systems, software, and networks. Knowledge of software and software install and troubleshooting. Knowledge of computer peripherals, including printer installation and troubleshooting. Ability to multitask.

Experience:

2 years of experience in computer support or related field.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide customer service and support. Troubleshoot computer hardware, replace parts, setup and move systems and printers as required. Install and troubleshoot computer software and operating systems. Imaging / OS deployment; Interactive whiteboard support. Projectors support and routine maintenance. Basic network troubleshooting and support. Work documentation and inventory, records keeping. Teamwork, participation in projects as required. Verbal and written communication with I.T. personnel and ECISD staff. Identify and provide solutions based on staff input. Any and all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
