Job Description
Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a detail-oriented Technical Writer to support a leading manufacturer of ruggedized compute solutions in Sugar Land, TX!
Position Overview:
In this role, you will thrive in a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment by developing, refining, and maintaining high-quality product documentation. You will act as the bridge between complex engineering concepts and accessible content, ensuring seamless product releases and driving user adoption. Beyond standard manuals, you will play a critical role in tracking production issues and collaborating with marketing to communicate product value effectively.Key Responsibilities:
Technical Documentation:
Produce clear, concise product documentation, including user guides, release notes, and launch-critical materials.Engineering Collaboration:
Partner closely with engineering teams to translate highly technical specifications into accurate, user-friendly content.Issue Tracking & Documentation:
Document Problem Service Requests (PSRs), ensuring production issues are clearly captured, organized, and routed to the appropriate engineering teams for resolution.Marketing Support:
Collaborate with the marketing department to produce promotional assets, product tutorials, and external messaging that highlights product value.Process Improvement:
Refine internal documentation workflows to support rapid product development cycles.Required Qualifications:
Experience:
Proven experience as a Technical Writer, specifically within a technical or manufacturing environment.Technical Communication:
Exceptional ability to translate complex engineering concepts into accessible language for various stakeholders.Problem Solving:
Strong analytical skills to track, document, and escalate production problems efficiently.Collaboration:
Ability to work closely with engineering, operations, and shop-floor personnel to capture real-time data and issues.Education:
Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Engineering, or a related field.Ideal Candidate Profile:
We are seeking a candidate who is as comfortable on the shop floor as they are in a marketing meeting. The ideal candidate has a "rugged" attention to detail and the technical aptitude to understand complex hardware systems while maintaining a high standard for clear, professional communication. Experience in publishing periodicals or technical reviews is a significant plus.Additional Information:
