Job Description

Top Notch Group, a Virginia-based IT services company, seeks a hard-working professional to join our fun, dynamic staff to fill a senior engineer position. Our team of network engineers, repair techs, and office staff have been servicing residential and commercial clients for over 20 years. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing projects, budgeting time, and making informed, critical decisions with regards to IT infrastructure & security. This is a full-time position, not a temp job or contract. For the right candidate, there will be eventual opportunities to advance in the company. A college degree in CIS, MIS, BIS, CS, etc. would be preferred, but candidates with equivalent experience and may also be considered. This is NOT a beginner position, nor is it a bench tech position (although there will be plenty of that, so experience with desktop support is required). As a smaller company, sometimes there is some overlap in roles. Ideal candidates will possess the following: An advanced knowledge of residential and commercial networks Prefer at least 3 yrs. experience working in IT service delivery Strong understanding of
TCP/IP & DNS
Heavy experience with Cisco, Netgear, Ubiquiti, Sonicwall, etc. network appliances Mastery of the Windows Server, Windows Pro, and Mac OS line of operating systems. Experience with Unix operating systems. Knowledge of both client-style and gateway-style VPN setups Comfortable supporting Exchange & Sharepoint online, as well as Google Apps Experience with medical and dental practice management/imaging software and equipment Structured cabling, power tools, and ladder safety experience Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, and other virtualized environments, as well as Azure & AWS Fundamentals A hard working, can-do attitude Willingness to learn new things, and the ability to learn new concepts quickly Excellent customer service skills Professional appearance and demeanor The ability to multitask and do well under pressure Excellent written and verbal communication skills Routine duties will include, but are not limited to: Assisting commercial & residential clients via remote support sessions and on-site service calls Systems & network deployments and migrations Scheduled monthly maintenance reviews of managed client IT infrastructure Desktop & laptop repairs Structured wiring and light A/V setup Occasional clerical, customer service, and administrative duties Long story short, we are seeking someone intelligent, well-spoken, fun, and ambitious who loves to work hard and be busy. Candidates may be required to undergo a background check and drug screening prior to employment. Overtime is sometimes required and usually available if desired. Occasional night and weekend shifts may be required as well. After an initial probationary period, employees will be eligible for health + dental insurance and PTO benefits, as well as participation in our SPF-IRA program.
