Job Description
The Department of Facilities Management is seeking multiple candidates for evening/night shift Systems Control Operator positions. These roles are responsible for remotely monitoring and managing critical systems across the University, including building fire alarms and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems. Systems Control Operators play a vital role in responding to emergency and non-emergency situations, ensuring the safety, efficiency, and reliability of building automation, energy management, and fire and life safety systems. This position requires strong decision-making skills, the ability to prioritize tasks, and the ability to work independently while keeping supervisors informed of any significant issues
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Systems Control Operators with Control Center daily operations.
- Work independently but immediately escalate critical issues or system malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Receive and prioritize work requests and dispatch responders accordingly.
- Ensure that all system issues are promptly addressed and resolved.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date reports, logs, and records of shift activities, ensuring all documentation is clear, legible, and complete..
- In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
