Job Title:

Information Governance Engineer (Data Discovery & Remediation) Summary This role supports the execution of the data discovery and remediation program by improving classification accuracy and helping convert findings into actionable workflows. The position works hands-on with data discovery tools and ticketing systems to ensure results are reliable, organized, and actionable. Key Responsibilities Execute and monitor data scans across priority data sources Support creation and tuning of classifiers to improve accuracy and reduce false positives Review and analyze findings (e.g., sensitive data, aged data, retention risks) Create and manage remediation tickets in Jira (and later ServiceNow) Apply consistent tagging, routing, and tracking of findings Support development of repeatable workflows from discovery to remediation Maintain basic documentation for processes and improvements Qualifications Experience with classifier development or tuning (regex, NER, pattern matching) Experience with ticketing tools (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow) Basic understanding of data types (structured vs. unstructured) Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Exposure to data discovery tools like BigID Familiarity with data governance, privacy, or security concepts Basic scripting or querying skills (SQL, Python, APIs) Success Improved accuracy of classification results Consistent conversion of findings into actionable tickets Establishment of repeatable workflows from discovery to remediation Dexian stands at the forefront of Talent + Technology solutions with a presence spanning more than 70 locations worldwide and a team exceeding 10,000 professionals.
