Non-Exempt The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for the hardware and software functionality of all active computer terminals and peripherals, correction of computer problems, installation of approved software programs, and PC maintenance. The Desktop Support Technician will, set up workstation equipment, assist computer users in the use of company software programs required for their workflow, and other duties as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up equipment for new users Keep PC's up-to-date through operating system upgrades Evaluate and correct PC problems; hardware, software, connectivity, etc. Provide technical support for patient portal connectivity Provide connectivity support of Office365 for clinic users Monitor clinic printer toner levels and replace as needed Provide technical support either by phone, remote access or site visits as needed. Assist IT Technician with office moves as needed Minimum education, training required: High school graduate or GED equivalent CompTIA A+

  • Requirements Proven experience as a Desktop Support Technician Possess diagnostic and problem-solving skills Good communication skills Good understanding of Microsoft Windows in a domain environment Good working knowledge of PC and internet security.
Knowledge and understanding of HIT compliance and data privacy principles Certification(s) as a Desktop Support Technician would be advantageous (e.g. CompTIA A+, HIT, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) General Well-groomed with a cheerful attitude Ability to communicate well with computer users Ability to perform job functions and assignments independently Dependable attendance necessary Physical requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Some standing, sitting, bending, occasional lifting (up to 40 lbs.). Use hands and fingers to continually manipulate a keyboard. Must be able to verbally communicate and hear. Work on a PC for up to 8 hours. Language Skills Ability to speak clearly via telephone and in person. Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, other providers, office staff and coworkers. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and, or complaints.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced community health center setting, potential exposure to infectious diseases, interaction with diverse patient population.
