  • IT Systems Employee Class Student Employee College Work Study Position No Department IT Systems Division Information Technology Hours per week 15-26 Hiring Rate $11/hr Preferred Student Classification Nature & Purpose of Position The Systems Student Worker
  • Developer will support the Systems team in efforts to modernize and secure organizational codebases.
This position is responsible for updating existing code, aligning with current industry standards, implementing modern security practices, and enhancing overall system functionality. This role provides practical development experience and the opportunity to gain insight into industry's best practices within a collaborative working environment. Other Requirements for the Position Primary Responsibilities
  • Refactor and update existing code for websites and applications to modern standards.
  • Implement and update code to modern security practices to ensure compliance with modern security protocols and standards.
  • Elevate code quality and maintainability by applying best practices and using version control.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to test, troubleshoot, and pinpoint opportunities for improvement.
  • Thoroughly document and track all modifications to code, database schemas, and workflows.
  • Utilize version control platforms, such as Git, to manage the codebase and facilitate official releases. Other Specifications
  • Experience with PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related web technologies.
  • Knowledge of SQL, C, .NET, PowerShell, Bash, and other programming languages.
  • Understanding of secure coding practices.
  • Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems.
  • Experience with relational database technologies.
  • Flexible scheduling within business hours (8 AM
  • 5 PM) with 15-26 hours per week.
