Job Description

Full job description Overview This role focuses on designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise virtualization and infrastructure platforms, with a strong emphasis on automation and operational efficiency. Core technologies include VMware vSphere, Omnissa Horizon, Rubrik, Pure Storage, and Qumulo, alongside scripting and orchestration using PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python, and REST APIs. You'll work closely with another Tier 3 Systems Engineer / Project Manager to architect, optimize, and support complex client environments. We're looking for someone who takes ownership, communicates professionally, documents thoroughly, and enjoys working closely with others while continuously expanding their technical expertise. Role Responsibilities Architect, administer, optimize, and troubleshoot VMware vSphere and Omnissa Horizon environments Manage enterprise storage and data protection platforms including Pure Storage, Qumulo, and Rubrik Lead infrastructure initiatives including hardware deployments, virtualization migrations, Horizon implementations, lifecycle upgrades, and storage/data migrations Automate administrative tasks, deployments, reporting, and infrastructure workflows using PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python, and REST APIs Provide advanced troubleshooting across servers, networking, virtualization, storage, and cloud-integrated systems Monitor infrastructure performance, capacity, and utilization trends, recommending proactive improvements and remediation strategies Create and maintain technical documentation including architecture diagrams, SOPs, automation procedures, implementation notes, and root-cause analyses Serve as the escalation point for complex infrastructure and automation-related issues Collaborate directly with clients, providing technical guidance, project updates, and enterprise-level remote/on-site support Qualifications & Requirements 3-5 years of experience in an MSP or enterprise systems engineering environment Experience implementing and supporting: VMware vSphere / ESXi / vCenter Omnissa Horizon or similar VDI platforms

vGPU environments Rubrik backup and disaster recovery solutions Enterprise storage platforms such as Pure Storage and Qumulo Identity and access management solutions including Imprivata and PAM platforms Strong understanding of: Windows Server infrastructure, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, IIS, and SQL Server Storage architecture concepts such as replication, snapshots, deduplication, thin provisioning, and high availability Infrastructure lifecycle management including firmware upgrades, hardware refreshes, and platform migrations Core networking concepts including VLANs, VPNs, routing, firewall troubleshooting, and virtual networking in vSphere Proficiency with infrastructure automation using PowerShell, PowerCLI, Python, and REST APIs Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration, including Intune, Exchange Online, Entra ID, and Microsoft Defender, is preferred Experience with enterprise monitoring, RMM, and PSA platforms Strong communication, technical writing, documentation, and project execution skills Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and collaboratively in fast-paced client environments
