deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL.

Position Description:

The Systems Engineer will support the IFICS Data Terminal (IDT) product team on the Ground Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) Weapon System (GWS) program. The candidate should have experience taking on progressively challenging responsibilities, demonstrating initiative, and driving innovative solutions. They should be recognized as a self-starter with a proven ability to lead teams, learn quickly, and deliver results in dynamic environments. In this role the candidate will perform Systems Engineering functions such as requirements decomposition, system design, system integration & test, hardware fault analysis, hardware design (mechanical and electrical), hardware interfaces (mechanical and electrical), testing, and hardware to software interface definition as part of the IDT product team. This team follows an Agile framework using Jira and Confluence to manage their backlog and document progress.

Science Experience Requirements:

5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD Background in hardware to include experience with hardware to software interfaces, hardware design (mechanical and electrical), hardware interfaces (mechanical and electrical), testing, and hardware faults Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems. Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
