Job Description

Robert Half's client in Surprise, Arizona is seeking an Enterprise/Lead Data Architect. This will be an onsite, long term contract position in Surprise, Arizona. Key ResponsibilitiesDiscovery & Current-State AssessmentLead comprehensive discovery of the current data environment, including systems, data flows, and storage platformsAssess existing architecture (data warehouses, lakes, operational systems, cloud/on-prem)Identify gaps, inefficiencies, redundancies, and data silosEvaluate current data quality, accessibility, and scalabilityFuture-State Architecture & StrategyDefine and design a long-term (5-10 year) data architecture roadmap aligned to business growthProvide recommendations on where data should reside (data lake, warehouse, cloud platforms, etc.)Design scalable, high-performance data solutions to support enterprise reporting, analytics, and future AI/ML initiativesAdvise on total data volume growth and infrastructure planning (full-scale/data capacity planning)System Mapping & Data FlowMap data flows across critical systems (ERP, CRM, HRIS, and other business applications)Develop enterprise data models and architecture diagramsIdentify and eliminate data silos while improving system interoperabilityData Governance & ComplianceEstablish and implement data governance frameworks, standards, and best practicesDefine data ownership, stewardship, and lifecycle management processesEnsure compliance with HIPAA, PCI, and other regulatory requirementsDevelop data classification, security, and access control modelsIntegration StrategyEvaluate and redesign integration architecture (ETL, APIs, middleware)Recommend tools and frameworks for modern data integration (real-time, batch, hybrid)Optimize data movement across systems to improve performance and reliabilityAdvise on future-state integration patterns (API-first, event-driven, microservices)
