Internship, Embedded Software Engineer, AI Platforms (Fall 2026) Tesla Motors, Inc. 125,000 - 125,000 USD paid holidays, flex time, 401(k) United States, California, Palo Alto May 05, 2026 What to Expect Consider before submitting an application: This position is expected to start August or September 2026 and continue throughfall term (endingapproximately December 2026) or continuing into Winter/Spring 2027 if available and there is an opportunity to do so. We ask for a minimum of12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships.

Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program.

Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships.
International Students:
If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year. Internship Program at

Team:
Thisteam builds critical tools and infrastructure thatenableTesla to develop softwarewithprecisionand agility. Ourmissionis toenhance productivity, minimize the potential for human error, andoptimizedevelopment processes.

Theteam's core technology is an infrastructure that describes how our complexcontrol systems communicate,and augments the engineering process with analysis,visualization,and code generation tools. As a member of this team, you will shape the landscape for how Tesla designs future systems. This is a software development role that requires someone who likes to think about the big picture. You will workwithcomponentownersacrossvehicle, robot, and energyorganizationsto developnew technologiesthatact as an engineeringforce multiplier. You will excel on this team if you thrive on autonomy and enjoy the freedom (and responsibility) of driving your own projects from concept to completion. What You'll Do Interface with key leaders of components spanning all Teslaproducts including energy, autopilot, robot, powertrain and vehicle controls, and service Develop code generators forhighly efficient embedded code and work withcomponentteams to integrate with their microcontrollers Advance our developer tooling to scale up with the rapidly increasing number of products and variants Identifyopportunities to improve organizational efficiency and reduce cost Design, develop and deploy tools and services to augment the development process What You'll Bring Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field of study with a graduation date betweenDecember2026- December2027 Rustexperience Python experience Excitement to develop internal tools Experience in data structures and algorithms A demonstrated understand of system design principles including scalability and maintainability The ability to write clean, well-documented code and debug for performance and reliability Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills Autonomy and resourcefulness to drive solutions from initially ambiguous requirements Compensation and Benefits Benefits As a full-time Tesla Intern, you will be eligible for: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans.
