This role requires deep hands-on expertise in eCW, strong knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards, and the ability to drive production-grade integrations across multiple practice environments. Key Responsibilities Lead and support integration initiatives with eClinicalWorks (eCW), leveraging technologies such as File APIs and SMART on FHIR. Evaluate integration strategies, participate in proof-of-concept efforts, and assess performance factors including latency, scalability, and feasibility of API-driven versus alternative approaches. Document system prerequisites, available interfaces, and platform limitations to guide solution design. Facilitate clinical and operational data integrations by enabling access to and validation of key datasets such as order catalogs, LOINC and CPT codes, and related reference dictionaries. Collaborate with internal teams, medical practices, and vendor support to navigate compliance requirements and determine approved methods for accessing required metadata. Recommend alternate solutions when direct access is restricted. Coordinate across multiple practice environments to identify and validate instance-level configurations, provider identifiers, and system variations. Troubleshoot integration and workflow challenges related to labs, imaging, referrals, medications, and order management, and recommend solutions to improve reliability and efficiency. Act as a functional and technical subject matter expert (SME) for eCW across architecture reviews, integration design, and feasibility discussions. Partner with engineering teams, product stakeholders, vendor support, and external partners to resolve access issues, enable APIs, and manage sandbox environments. Contribute to documentation, governance processes, status reporting, and tracking of deliverables. Required Qualifications 8-10+ years of overall experience in healthcare IT, with strong hands-on expertise in eClinicalWorks (eCW) Proven experience delivering production-grade eCW integrations (not just POCs or academic exposure) Hands-on experience with
FHIR / SMART
on FHIR APIs , HL7, or other healthcare interoperability standards Strong familiarity with clinical data standards such as
LOINC, CPT
, and related healthcare coding systems Demonstrated experience troubleshooting real-world healthcare workflows and integration issues Experience working with multi-practice or multi-instance eCW environments Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills Excellent documentation and communication abilities Compensation $70 - $75 per hour (1099 contract) Final rate will be determined based on experience, skills, and overall fit for the role Work Authorization Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application.
