$105,000•$155,000 Role Summary ODME Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the
MATRIX CHAT
team under the CB-ISEA contract with
NIWC PAC.
This role focuses on automated VM image development, CANES integration, and operational test execution. The engineer will support VM build processes, deployment into vSphere environments, and integration within restricted and shipboard environments. The emphasis is on reliable VM delivery, integration readiness, and hands-on execution in real DoD lab and fleet environments. Primary Responsibilities Build and maintain VM-based deployments of
MATRIX CHAT
Contribute to VM image creation using tools such as Packer or similar automation frameworks Support version-controlled build and release workflows (Git-based preferred) Deploy and configure VM templates within vSphere / vCenter environments Support deployment within CANES backbone constraints and air-gapped environments Produce deployable VM templates, configuration artifacts, and operator-ready packages Support App Arsenal deployment paths as required Assist with cross-system chat integration, including MATRIX ↔ MAKO bridging (IRC-based) Troubleshoot Windows and Linux environments across system and infrastructure boundaries Support integration testing, shipboard testing, and RIMPAC operational execution Work within an Agile team environment to track readiness and mitigate risk Produce clear documentation to support fleet and operator use Required Qualifications 3+ years of experience building and deploying VM images in vSphere / vCenter environments Active DoD Security Clearance Active Security+ Certification Desired / Bonus Skills Ability to operate independently under schedule pressure tied to fixed milestones Experience troubleshooting Windows and Linux environments Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code concepts (Terraform or similar) Experience operating in air-gapped or restricted network environments Familiarity with CANES deployment environments Strong communication skills and experience working in Agile environments Existing
