Job Description

Senior WordPress Platform Engineer Santa Clara, CA (Onsite) | Contract | 10+ Years Experience Seeking a Senior WordPress Platform Engineer with deep expertise in enterprise-scale WordPress Multisite environments. This role requires a highly independent technical leader who can own platform operations, security, performance, and deployments with minimal oversight.
Required Skills:
10+ years of web/platform engineering experience with strong WordPress focus Expert in WordPress Multisite architecture and operations Strong PHP, MySQL, REST APIs, and modern web technologies Experience with custom themes/plugins, CI/CD, cloud hosting (AWS/Azure/WP Engine) Enterprise security, vulnerability remediation, and compliance management Performance optimization, CDN, caching, and Core Web Vitals Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, global environment
Preferred:
Experience with GitHub Copilot, Claude, or AI-assisted development tools Multilingual WordPress environments (WPML or similar) Looking for a proactive Platform Partner who takes ownership, communicates effectively, identifies risks early, and manages a mission-critical WordPress platform without handholding.
