Designs, develops, tests, debugs and implements software that runs computers and technologies like smart devices, networking equipment, or machinery | Determines systems software design requirements | Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency | Generates systems software engineering policies, standards and procedures | May participate in all aspects of software development, from detailed programming to high-level system design Impact of theRole:
General Profile Requires full proficiency in a range of technical processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience Completes a variety of atypical assignments Works within defined technical processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments Works with a limited degree of supervision, with oversight focused only on complex new assignments Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience Performs manual tasks according to established proceduresEssential Functions:
By applying systems engineering theory and related knowledge, assists systems engineers with overall systems infrastructure including assisting with engineering, supporting implementation and coordinating integration projects. Provides technical assistance and resolution when systems or software engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after construction. Assists with systems and system infrastructure and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of system principles. Collaborates with systems engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental systems issues. May support projects or participate in disaster recovery exercises.Required Qualifications:
Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 5-7 years' experienceOR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience Preferred Qualifications:

Technical training preferred Knowledge, skills & abilities: Technical expertise. Planning skills. Detail oriented. Manual dexterity.Physical Requirements:
Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities. May need to stand for long periods of time. Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. May be requested to work a different shift. Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.Travel Requirements:
