Position Summary:
Vecima is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer to lead the development, execution, and maintenance of manual and automated testing within the product development lifecycle. This role is responsible for driving test strategy, expanding test automation, and ensuring product reliability across complex, multi-node systems. The Senior Reliability Engineer partners closely with Software Engineering, Product Management, and Test teams to promote test-driven development, improve test coverage, and support continuous delivery practices. This position is part of an Agile software development team and requires deep experience with Agile methodologies, automation frameworks, and system-level testing.Key Responsibilities:
Lead functional, regression, and exploratory testing for multi-node, Network Attached Storage solutions Design, deploy, run, and maintain GNU/Linux-based test environments in containerized architectures on virtualized infrastructure Partner with Product Management as part of the Delivery Team to clarify requirements and drive high-quality Epics and User Stories as a customer advocate Lead the design, maintenance, and expansion of automated, headless test frameworks supporting new feature development Collaborate closely with Software Engineers within an integrated Scrum team to define effective functional and non-functional test cases Drive test automation initiatives to shorten test cycles and improve test reliability Develop tools, scripts, and frameworks for rapid product deployment and test execution Define, document, and report release and feature-level test coverage and quality metrics Mentor and provide technical guidance to Reliability and Test Engineers Identify systemic quality risks and proactively drive improvements across the development lifecycleQualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experienceExperience:
6+ years of experience in SET, QA, or reliability engineering roles Experience with CDN, streaming, storage, or edge computing platformsSkills & Competencies:
Strong expertise with GNU/Linux systems via the command line, including package management and disk and network troubleshooting Extensive experience with headless and back-end system testing Proven experience with automated API testing (REST and SOAP) Advanced scripting experience (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl) Demonstrated experience working in mature Agile development environments (e.g., BDD, pair programming) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on process and quality Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving methodology Owns and drives test strategy and automation for major product areas Influences product quality, reliability, and release readiness Provides technical leadership and mentorship within the Reliability and Test organizationPreferred/Asset Qualifications:
Previous experience with Network Attached Storage or distributed systems Knowledge of modern infrastructure and cloud technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, etc.) Experience with network monitoring and packet analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark) Ability to lead initiatives, take ownership of complex projects, and influence cross-functional teams Comfortable working proactively with minimal supervision Proven ability to drive challenging projects to successful completion At Vecima, everyone contributes and makes an impact.
