Sr Windows Systems/Infrastructure Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Windows Systems/Infrastructure Engineer in Marietta, GA. This role supports a highly critical on prem (QTS) environment with minimal tolerance for ramp up.

Key Tasks:

• Primary focus on VMware and Windows Server virtualization
• Windows patching, hardening, and server lifecycle management
• Backup management (VM and some physical) and coordination with DBA teams
• No cloud focus; This is a true data center centric role
• After hours and weekend responsibilities (including early mornings) are required due to system criticality
• Emphasis on strong communication skills and ability to explain problem solving approach
• Candidates must be able to hit the ground running with little to no training
• Provide basic network infrastructure support (switch port management, router/firewall alert triage, vendor escalation) as needed, including coverage during team member absences
• Coordinate with vendors and internal departments (GIS, application teams, legal) for maintenance agreements and issue resolution

REQUIREMENTS

• VMware Virtualization (Primary): Day to day ownership of VMware infrastructure; Deep hands on experience required

Windows Server Administration:

Patch management, hardening, lifecycle management; Supporting highly critical production systems

• Data Center Operations (On Prem): Backup management (VM + some physical); Coordination with DBAs when VM/SQL/storage issues arise; No cloud focus - this is strictly an on prem/data center role The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role.

We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
