This role ensures the stability, availability, and security of enterprise systems across on-premises and Microsoft cloud platforms. This position supports core Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, Microsoft 365, endpoint management, and identity and access services. The Infrastructure Engineer works as part of the IT team to configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance systems while ensuring reliable and secure operations. This role is hands-on and focused on operational execution, incident response, and continuous improvement of existing infrastructure and cloud services. This role is fully onsite in Iowa with hours Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Essential Responsibilities Windows Server & Infrastructure Support:
Support and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file services. Perform installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting of server roles and services. Monitor system health and apply security updates and configuration standards to ensure stable operations. Microsoft 365
Administration:
Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams. Support user and license management, assist with mail flow troubleshooting, and maintain security and compliance configurations within the tenant. Identity & Access Support (Entra ID / Azure AD): Support identity and access management services using Microsoft Entra ID. Assist with configuration and troubleshooting of Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Conditional Access, role-based access control, and application integrations. Support hybrid identity environments and resolve authentication and synchronization issues. Endpoint Management (Microsoft Intune): Manage and support endpoint lifecycle using Microsoft Intune. Configure device provisioning, compliance policies, configuration profiles, and application deployment. Ensure devices remain secure, compliant, and properly managed across the organization.
Hybrid Identity, Security & Operational Support:
Support hybrid identity environments using AD Connect, including password synchronization and federation troubleshooting. Assist with backup and recovery processes and participate in disaster recovery activities. Respond to incidents and service outages, perform root cause analysis with senior staff, and maintain documentation and operational runbooks. Knowledge & Skills Experience 5+ years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure support, or cloud support roles. Strong experience with Microsoft Windows Server administration and enterprise infrastructure services. Experience managing or supporting Microsoft 365 environments in an enterprise setting. Experience supporting Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), including identify, authentication, and access concepts. Strong experience with Microsoft Intune and endpoint lifecycle management. Experience working in hybrid on-premises and cloud environments. Familiarity with security practices including MFA, patching, and access control. Education Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Industry certifications preferred (Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, Identity and Access Administrator Associate, CompTIA Security+, Certified Information Systems Security Professional). Ongoing professional development in cloud infrastructure, identity management, and cybersecurity strongly encouraged. Interpersonal Skills Strong ability to communicate technical issues clearly to team members and non-technical stakeholders. Proven collaboration skills across IT teams, business leaders, and external vendors. Customer service mindset with focus on responsiveness and problem resolution. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with shifting priorities. Willingness to learn and grow technical capabilities in cloud and security domains. Other Skills Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving across infrastructure and cloud systems. Experience supporting system monitoring, patching, and operational stability. Working knowledge of backup, disaster recovery concepts. Experience with technical documentation and maintaining support procedures/ runbooks. Exposure to automation or scripting is a plus. Ability to support Tier 2/3 escalations under guidance from Network/IT Operations Manager.
