About the Company We're partnered with a high-performance trading organization where technology, data, and market strategy converge. This team operates at the core of live trading, building and running systems that must perform reliably under real-time market conditions. The culture is highly collaborative, engineering-driven, and focused on continuous improvement. About the Role This is a hands-on Trading Engineer position within a strategy development environment. You'll own critical systems that power live trading strategies, design automations that improve speed and reliability, and help ensure the platform performs when it matters most. It's an ideal role for someone with an SRE, systems, or production engineering background who wants closer proximity to execution and decision-making. Responsibilities Monitor and support live trading systems during market hours, responding to performance or reliability issues in real time Investigate incidents across distributed systems, identify root causes, and implement long-term fixes Build tools and automations that eliminate manual processes and improve system resilience Partner closely with traders, researchers, and engineers to deliver high-impact improvements Continuously evaluate and improve system performance, scalability, and operational workflows Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience) 2-5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Systems Engineering, Production Engineering, or technical operations Strong hands-on experience with Linux systems, including server management, troubleshooting, and performance tuning Solid understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/UDP, routing, multicast, and low-level network performance concepts Proficiency in Python and Bash for automation, tooling, and operational scripting, with a demonstrated curiosity for systems through hands-on experimentation or personal projects Required Skills Strong scripting or automation skills (Python and/or Bash) Hands-on experience with Linux in production environments; Kubernetes experience is a plus Familiarity with monitoring, data stores, or messaging systems such as Prometheus, SQL/NoSQL databases, Kafka, or similar tools Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
