Role Overview We are looking for two experienced Azure Cloud Engineers to support the design, deployment, and day-to-day operation of Azure cloud environments on a 6-to-12-month contract basis, working onsite in Houston, TX. This is a hands-on, end-to-end role spanning every layer of the cloud stack including virtual machines, networking, storage, identity, and security, supporting hosted PLM and CAD solutions such as Windchill& Teamcenter You will be a go-to resource for Azure-related work, from architecture and provisioning through day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, security hardening, and customer environment management. This role is ideal for a self-directed engineer who is equally comfortable designing infrastructure, configuring firewalls, building VMs, tuning performance, responding to incidents, and engaging directly with clients. Engagement Details Contract Duration:
6 to 12 months, with potential for extension based on project needs and performance. Work Location:
Onsite at the client location in Houston, TX. Candidates must be available to work onsite full-time for the duration of the engagement. Openings:
2 positions available. Required Qualifications 5+ years of progressive infrastructure experience, with at least 3 years focused hands-on on Microsoft Azure in production environments. Demonstrated ability to take end-to-end responsibility across compute, network, storage, identity, and security. Hands-on expertise across Azure Compute (VMs, VMSS, AVD), Storage (Managed Disks, Files, NetApp Files, Blob), Networking (VNet, ExpressRoute, Firewall, Application Gateway, private endpoints), Identity (Entra ID), and Security (Key Vault, Defender, Sentinel). Strong working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, certificate management, and SQL Server in cloud and hybrid contexts. Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM) and scripting in PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python. Experience supporting cloud migrations and operating production workloads with HA, DR, backup, and business continuity in place. Solid understanding of network security concepts including firewalls, segmentation, VPNs, TLS, and zero trust principles. Strong troubleshooting skills across the full stack, from VM-level issues to network paths and identity flows. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage directly with customers, security reviewers, and internal stakeholders. Must be available to work onsite full-time in Houston, TX for the duration of the contract. Preferred Qualifications Direct experience hosting or operating PLM platforms in Azure, particularly PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter, or CAD tools such as NX, Creo, or SolidWorks.. Experience working in consulting, MSP, or solution provider environment supporting multiple customer environments concurrently. Exposure to FinOps practices for cloud cost management. Background with ITSM and monitoring tools such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Datadog, or similar. Azure certifications such as AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect Expert), AZ-104 (Azure Administrator), or AZ-700 (Azure Network Engineer).
