Job Description
Description We are looking for a Test Engineer to support interoperability testing across connected medical device systems. This role focuses on executing test cases to validate data exchange, system integration workflows, and conformance to healthcare interoperability standards. The engineer will play a critical role in hands-on test execution, defect identification, and accurate reporting in a regulated environment. This position supports increased testing demand tied to multiple concurrent product releases, including Novum IQ, IQE, Spectrum, and Gen V WBM initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute predefined interoperability test cases across medical device systems, interfaces, and integration platforms.
- Validate device-to-system and system-to-system data exchange for accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
- Record test results, capture system logs, and document defects with clear reproducibility steps.
- Perform testing aligned with healthcare standards such as HL7, FHIR, DICOM, and IHE profiles.
- Validate message structures, data mapping, and end-to-end workflows.
- Verify system behavior under both normal and exception scenarios (e.g., malformed data, connectivity interruptions).
- Identify, isolate, and document defects related to interoperability, integration, and data integrity.
- Support root cause analysis by providing detailed logs and test evidence.
- Re-test fixes and participate in regression testing cycles.
- Configure and utilize test tools, simulators, and mock systems to replicate interoperability scenarios.
- Assist in maintaining test environments and system connectivity configurations.
- Maintain accurate and traceable test records within ALM/test management tools.
- Provide regular updates on test progress, risks, and issues.
Requirements Core Qualifications:
- Experience executing software or system test cases in a controlled or regulated environment.
- Hands-on experience with interoperability or integration testing.
- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM, IHE).
- Ability to document defects clearly with reproducible steps and supporting evidence.
- Experience using test management or ALM tools for tracking test execution and defects.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured test procedures.
- Ability to work onsite in a collaborative, team-based environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience testing connected medical devices or healthcare systems.
- Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485).
- Familiarity with test tools, simulators, or mock system configurations.
- Exposure to integration platforms and data exchange validation tools.
- Experience supporting large-scale, concurrent product releases or programs.
- Understanding of networking or system connectivity concepts related to integration testing.
