Job Description

Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to design, build, and scale our infrastructure and deployment systems. You will play a critical role in automating processes, improving system reliability, and enabling rapid, secure delivery of our backend services.

This role requires a strong foundation in cloud infrastructure, containerization, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices, along with a proactive mindset toward system reliability, observability, and security.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain scalable, highly available backend infrastructureBuild and manage CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and reliable software deliveryAutomate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) toolsDeploy, manage, and monitor containerized applications using Docker (and orchestration tools if applicable)Manage multi-cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure environmentsImplement and maintain configuration management using AnsibleImprove system observability through logging, monitoring, and alerting solutionsEnsure high system uptime, performance, and scalability through proactive optimizationCollaborate with development teams to improve build, test, and deployment workflowsEnforce and implement security best practices across infrastructure and application layersParticipate in incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortemsMaintain documentation for infrastructure, processes, and runbooksRequired QualificationsStrong experience with JavaScript and TypeScript in backend or tooling environmentsProven experience with Node.js in production systemsHands-on experience with Docker and containerized application deploymentExperience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS and AzureExperience with Ansible or similar configuration management toolsSolid understanding of backend server infrastructure and distributed systemsExperience deploying and maintaining production-grade systemsKnowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing, firewalls)Familiarity with Linux-based systems and command-line environmentsUnderstanding of version control systems (e.g., Git) and branching strategiesPreferred SkillsExperience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi)Familiarity with container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, ECS)Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)Strong understanding of monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog)Experience with secrets management and secure configuration (e.g., Vault, AWS Secrets Manager)Experience with autoscaling, high availability, and disaster recovery strategiesFamiliarity with API gateways, reverse proxies, and load balancers (e.g., NGINX, HAProxy)Experience with artifact repositories and package managementSecurity & Compliance ExpectationsStrong understanding of secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) practicesExperience implementing identity and access management (IAM) policiesFamiliarity with vulnerability scanning, patch management, and dependency securityKnowledge of encryption standards (TLS, data-at-rest encryption)Awareness of compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR)Experience with security monitoring, logging, and incident responseNice-to-Have SkillsExperience working with IoT devices (e.g., System on Chip, BrightSign players, Android-based devices)Familiarity with edge computing and remote device managementExperience supporting distributed device fleets at scaleKnowledge of both Linux and Windows operating systems in production environmentsExperience with message queues or streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)
