We are in search of a IT Systems Engineer for our Harahan, LA location.
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Install and maintain computer hardware, software, and networking technologies by performing the following duties.

Reports to: Director of IT This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Note:
All responsibilities listed apply to both "in house" and "motor vessel" systems. Verify server functionality, identify potential issues, and work out solutions.
Manage all servers including:
o File services o Active Directory, including DHCP and DNS o Duo administration o GPO management and implementation o Printing services o Citrix Cloud and Prem services administration o Office 365 online administration and support o Anti-Virus administration o SAP on premise Review all site Firewalls. Review all site-to-site connectivity and identify anomalies. Network equipment management including monitoring and troubleshooting issues. SIP phone system server administration. o Troubleshoot and repair phone switches, servers, SBCs, telephones, and overhead PA. o Manage call routing including work group and menu tree configuration. Maintain all information technology systems to ensure optimal access. Review all Server synchronizations and backups. Work help desk including answering the phones and working tickets. Communication with vendors regarding support and projects. Project Management. Be familiar with and troubleshoot all hardware, software and network operating systems. Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software. Create new user system accounts. Provide orientation to new users. Train staff in the potential uses of new and existing technology. Provide individual training and support on request. Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources. Create and maintain help desk tickets for required repairs and maintenance. Install workstation, connect, and set up hardware and load all required software. Maintain security of all technology. Identify, strip, and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate. Work on projects in support of both in-house and vessel IT systems. Organize and execute training sessions for non-department employees. Assist in the support of the Help Desk to ensure operational continuity of user and vessel systems. Perform other related duties as required during working hours.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to read, write and speak clearly in the English language. Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) is required. High school diploma. 3-5 years of working experience within IT Department support. Detailed knowledge of Microsoft workstation operating systems. Experience assisting users with Microsoft applications such as MS Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel & Internet Explorer. Active certification and experience in at least 2 of the following products. M.S. Server, VMware Server, SQL Server & Citrix Server. Hands on experience with LAN/WAN technologies. Excellent problem-solving skills, hardware & software troubleshooting skills and use of remote management systems. Courteous and professional always, especially under stress. Well organized and detail driven with strong interpersonal skills and initiative. Reliable and responsible, able to respond quickly to support calls, on weeknights or weekends. Ability to work in team environment. Aptitude and desire for new knowledge. Ability to read, comprehend and learn. Ability to solve problems, teach others and make decisions on a daily basis.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires driving a vehicle as necessary for errands and business-related meetings. Employee and/or applicant must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History check and possess and maintain a current valid driver's license in their state of residence. Travel to vessels and extended out of town trips will be required.
