  • $250,000Position OverviewStaffed4U is seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer II / Subject Matter Expert to support the design, development, integration, and sustainment of complex Department of Defense systems and capabilities.
This role contributes across the full systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements analysis, functional decomposition, architecture development, interface management, verification planning, risk assessment, and technical documentation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of systems engineering principles, DoD acquisition processes, architecture frameworks, and requirements management methodologies while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to deliver mission-critical solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-impact national security programs supporting advanced defense and intelligence community initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain systems engineering documentation, including System Engineering Plans (SEPs), Initial Capabilities Documents (ICDs), Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Manage system and derived requirements to ensure alignment with defined architectures and mission objectives
  • Assist in the development and allocation of system, functional, hardware, software, facility, and personnel requirements
  • Support Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews requiring cross-functional coordination
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to design and develop new system capabilities
  • Define, manage, and maintain interfaces throughout the system lifecycle
  • Allocate process and error budgets across systems and subsystems
  • Derive lower-level requirements from higher-level system requirements while ensuring completeness, traceability, and verifiability
  • Develop alternative system concepts, architectures, and design solutions
  • Establish verification methods, processes, and evaluation criteria to ensure compliance with requirements
  • Develop system design solutions that satisfy functional and technical requirements
  • Support Information Assurance (IA) requirements development, including confidentiality, integrity, authentication, access control, and cryptographic solutions
  • Provide technical leadership in systems engineering, integration, testing, and architecture development activities
  • Develop and implement Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions
  • Create operational, technical, system, and services views utilizing applicable DoDAF standards
  • Develop operational concepts, scenarios, and workflows supporting mission requirements
  • Conduct quantitative analyses in areas such as reliability, maintainability, survivability, vulnerability, and producibility
  • Establish formal integration and interface management processes across multiple teams
  • Manage requirements changes, impact assessments, traceability, and stakeholder coordination
  • Assess and manage program risks in accordance with approved risk management plans
  • Maintain the technical integrity of system baselines throughout the development lifecycle
  • Support verification planning, testing activities, and certification/accreditation processes
  • Assist in the development and review of JCIDS documentation Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related technical discipline
  • Active Security+ certification (DoD 8570 compliant)
  • Minimum of 14 years of systems engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope, type, and complexity
