Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Controls Systems Engineering Supervisor for a top engineering and building solutions client. This individual will lead a team of controls engineers and designers, overseeing application engineering, system design, and commissioning efforts across complex construction projects. The role requires a hands-on technical leader who can balance people management, cost control, and delivery excellence while serving as a regional subject-matter expert. This is a highly visible onsite role supporting large-scale projects and strategic accounts with a strong focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Day to
Day:
  • Supervise Controls Systems Engineers and Designers across multiple projects
  • Manage and prioritize engineering workloads to meet delivery timelines
  • Assign resources across local teams, offshore teams, and central support groups
  • Provide engineering cost estimates and delivery timelines during project planning
  • Ensure compliance with state, local, and federal requirements and ethical standards
  • Serve as regional expert in application engineering and advanced technical support
  • Review and standardize engineering processes, tools, and deliverables
  • Support network commissioning and complex engineering tasks as needed
  • Partner with Project Owners and HVAC Installation Managers for execution success
  • Monitor financials, job costs, and team performance using internal reporting tools
  • Hire, mentor, performance-manage, and develop engineering team members
  • Maintain customer, consultant, and architect relationships

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 8+ years of application engineering experience
  • 5+ years of progressive responsibility in the construction industry
  • Prior experience supervising or leading technical/engineering teams
  • Strong knowledge of controls systems, application engineering, and commissioning
  • Experience managing engineering schedules, resources, and deliverables
  • Understanding of accounting principles, cost management, and job cost evaluation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Master's Degree in Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration
  • Experience supporting Data Center or Pharmaceutical projects
  • Experience working with offshore or centralized engineering teams
  • Familiarity with EPIC, IIS, PowerBI, or similar reporting/project tools
  • Recognized subject-matter expertise in multiple core engineering competencies
