8 Omaha, NE Job Details Full-time 14 hours ago Qualifications Configuration management Application deployment Automating deployment processes Escalation handling Full Job Description Responsibilities Senior Infrastructure Engineer The Senior Infrastructure Engineer applies knowledge and experience with engineering principles and techniques in the design, development, installation, integration, analysis, operation, maintenance, testing, and evaluation of compute and storage infrastructure, security, and supervisory control systems. This role performs complex assignments requiring the development of new or improved products, processes, and techniques, and assesses feasibility and soundness of engineering proposals. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer demonstrates strong communication, technical leadership, and the ability to mentor others while effectively managing multiple priorities. The Impact You'll Have Perform and analyze complex engineering assignments requiring six to nine months to complete. Design testing of materials and prepare technical specifications. Participate in process study tests and collaborate with vendors to resolve issues. Identify conflicting design requirements and ensure accurate project documentation. Coordinate activities across engineering and operational units to support successful project outcomes. Plan and implement changes to technical architecture and operating environments. Develop frameworks, standards, and guides for diverse engineering activities. Provide technical leadership for automation frameworks and solutions. Drive virtualization and cloud initiatives across the enterprise. Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement using configuration management tools. Automatically deliver and manage rapid changes across infrastructure environments. Mentor Infrastructure Engineers and support their development. Qualifications What You'll Bring
  • Required Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, and at least five years of experience in an equivalent role; OR 9+ years of enterprise infrastructure design and operations experience.
Ability to support a 24-hour on-call escalation schedule. Experience across application deployment, configuration management, workflow automation/orchestration, and process automation. Collaboration skills across multidisciplinary technical Preferred Experience Advanced experience with Microsoft Windows and Unix/Linux. Advanced experience with Cisco UCS or equivalent enterprise server hardware. Advanced knowledge of Active Directory authentication technologies. Experience with VMWare, Hyper-V, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop. Experience with automated monitoring, patching, and cloud management tools (e.g., vRealize, CloudBolt). Experience with Microsoft Azure, O365, and public/private cloud environments. Experience scripting in PowerShell, Python, or other languages. Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet. Understanding of REST and SOAP APIs. Ability to develop complex workflows for automated environment deployments. Experience building automation frameworks, scripts, and templates. Knowledge of cloud networking, cloud operations, security, and orchestration. Experience with containers such as Docker or Pivotal Cloud Foundry. Storage Working knowledge of storage/backup solutions including PURE, VNX, vPlex, Data Domain, Avamar. Working knowledge of SAN fabric switching (Brocade). Experience with hyperconverged infrastructure. Other Well-rounded networking knowledge (LAN, WAN, VLAN, routing, firewalls). Datacenter management (power, space, cooling, cable plant). Content switching and traffic management (F5, Netscaler). Experience with Software-Defined Networking (ACI, NSX). Closing Statement Level
