Job Description

Job Summary The Cloud Engineer will work within the Data Platform space, supporting the Oracle Engineering team to design, develop, deploy, and maintain enterprise-level database systems across AWS, Azure, and on-prem environments. This role blends software engineering and database expertise, focusing on building scalable, highly available, and automated database platforms. The engineer will contribute to engineering standards, platform enhancements, DevOps integration, cloud migration, and operational reliability. Key Responsibilities Design, maintain, and enhance database solutions across AWS, Azure, and on-prem environments. Support Oracle database administration, platform engineering, and automation to build highly available and scalable systems. Collaborate with DevOps teams to build, configure, debug, and automate pipelines and deployment workflows. Participate in database migration efforts from on-prem to public cloud platforms. Build and deploy data solutions on AWS and Azure using cloud-native capabilities. Design and implement resilient Oracle database platforms including distributed database architectures. Monitor database performance and configure alerts using tools such as DataDog, OEM, and OpenTelemetry. Provide production support, maintenance, and on-call assistance for high-availability database environments. Utilize CI/CD tools including GitHub, Artifactory, and Jenkins for automated delivery. Automate administrative tasks using Python, Groovy, Jenkins, Java, or shell scripting. Evaluate and recommend best-of-breed tools and engineering best practices. Serve as a technical resource and mentor to other engineers. Participate in testing, documentation, code reviews, and solution design. Represent technical solutions to business partners and support organizational service needs. Participate in proof-of-concept designs to validate best practices and performance strategies. Required Qualifications Experience working in hybrid database environments across on-prem and public cloud resources. Hands-on experience collaborating with DevOps teams to build and troubleshoot automation pipelines. Experience deploying and migrating databases to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure). Strong experience building and deploying data solutions in AWS and Azure. Expertise in designing resilient Oracle database platforms with distributed database architectures. Understanding of Oracle RAC performance considerations. Experience configuring alerts and monitors using DataDog, OEM, and OTEL. Strong production support experience for high-availability database systems, including participation in on-call rotations. Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Artifactory, and Jenkins. Ability to automate administrative tasks using Python, Groovy, Java, Jenkins, or shell scripting. Ability to evaluate and recommend tools and engineering best practices. 12+ years of experience in Oracle Database Administration, Performance Engineering, or Replication Engineering across Linux and engineered systems. Expertise with GoldenGate replication, including Oracle RAC and Exadata environments.
