Video Platform Integration Engineer

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Video Platform Engineer to support video player integration and platform-level video initiatives across Versant Media's digital ecosystem. This role serves as a key technical partner between front-end player implementations, streaming infrastructure teams, analytics, and ad technology stakeholders. The Video Platform Engineer will work closely with the streaming team to ensure smooth end-to-end video delivery, supporting backend workflows such as packaging, DRM/CDM configuration, and playback compatibility across platforms. The role focuses on integrating and maintaining video players in a technology-agnostic way, ensuring consistent performance, reliability, and user experience across web, mobile, and connected devices. Day to day, this role will support video analytics and QoS implementations, partner with ad technology teams on Dynamic Ad Insertion workflows, and help ensure that monetization requirements are correctly integrated into the player experience. The engineer will troubleshoot complex playback and streaming issues, contribute to architectural discussions, and help define best practices for scalable, vendor-neutral video platform integration. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, the ability to balance hands-on technical work with architectural thinking, and comfort operating across multiple teams and technologies within a rapidly evolving video ecosystem. •  Support integration of video analytics tools and frameworks, including: o Quality of Service (QoS), Adobe Analytics, Nielsen, Comscore
•  5+ years of experience working with video platforms, video player integration, or streaming-related engineering roles
•  Hands-on experience integrating video players across multiple platforms, including web, mobile, and/or connected TV devices
•  Strong understanding of video streaming fundamentals and how streams work end to end, from backend services through playback
•  Experience partnering closely with streaming or video infrastructure teams to support packaging, delivery, and playback compatibility
•  Working knowledge of DRM and CDM concepts and how they are configured for secure video playback
•  Experience supporting video analytics implementations, including Quality of Service (QoS) and playback measurement
•  Ability to operate in a technology-agnostic manner across different players, vendors, and streaming stacks
•  Strong troubleshooting skills across playback, streaming, and integration issues
•  Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, product, analytics, and ad technology teams
•  Ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities in a fast-paced, evolving video environment
•  Experience with Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI) technologies
•  Hands-on experience with FreeWheel (strongly preferred)
•  Familiarity with Adobe Analytics, Nielsen, and/or Comscore video measurement
•  Experience supporting ad insertion workflows, including how ads purchased by Ad Sales are inserted into video players
•  Understanding of how video ads are uploaded, managed, and maintained within MS Now
•  Experience working on large-scale or high-traffic video platforms
•  Background supporting cross-platform playback consistency and performance optimization
