Job Description We are seeking a motivated Research Assistant to support research in hardware and firmware development within a laboratory setting. The role focuses on the design, fabrication, and testing of wearable electronic systems, particularly instrumented insole technologies. The candidate will contribute to PCB development, embedded firmware, system validation, and wearable sensor data analysis. Additional responsibilities include maintaining technical documentation, organizing project repositories, and collaborating with external partners on remote gait monitoring studies and data interpretation. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and support PCB and firmware implementation for instrumented insole wearable systems, including fabrication and bench-level testing. Assist in the development, debugging, and maintenance of embedded firmware for wearable sensor platforms. Update, maintain, and manage mechanical and electrical design documentation, including blueprints and bills of materials (BOMs). Organize and maintain a structured and accessible project repository on the laboratory server, ensuring proper version control and documentation standards. Collaborate with research assistants and external partners to coordinate and support remote patient gait monitoring sessions. Process, analyze, and interpret wearable sensor data to evaluate system performance and verify functional requirements. Support troubleshooting and resolution of hardware, firmware, and system integration issues during development and testing cycles. Maintain clear and detailed technical documentation of designs, experiments, and test results.
