Job Description
Assume a vital position as a key member of a high-performing team that delivers infrastructure and performance excellence. As a Principal Infrastructure Engineer - Messaging Architect at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Technology, Client Services, you will be a technical expert specializing in messaging architectures for distributed systems and modern data platforms. Our global team collaborates with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver innovative, cloud-based solutions leveraging a wide range of open-source technologies. This is an internally facing professional services organization where you will work with many of the firm's most critical applications. Success in this role requires deep, proven technical expertise, strong communication and presentation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams to solve complex data challenges. This role offers outstanding opportunities for professional growth and advancement. In this professional services position, you will lead engagements, provide expert guidance on modern data and messaging platforms, and work closely with engineering and product teams to design robust as-a-service infrastructures. You will also contribute thought leadership through webinars, white papers, and presentations, and participate in hands-on research and development initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
Engage with teams and applications across the company to design and prototype new messaging implementations Help clients troubleshoot their implementations and integrate the product within their ecosystem Serve as a trusted advisor to users throughout the firm, supporting areas from asset management to fraud detection in one of the world's largest and most respected enterprise IT organizations. Maintain a strong understanding of the rapidly evolving landscape of database technologies, streaming platforms, and integration tools.Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience 5+ years of software development and architecture experience in Java 3+ years of customer facing experience in a technical role 3+ years of big data experience and hands-on expertise with at least one messaging platform (e.g., Kafka, Flink, Kinesis, Pulsar). Experience with traditional messaging systems (such as RabbitMQ, IBM MQ
) and a solid working knowledge of SQL. Proficiency with Linux environments. Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to visualize and explain complex concepts to audiences at all organizational levels, both internally and externally.
