Job Description
The company is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer II to ensure the reliability, performance, and integrity of enterprise technology systems. This role is responsible for implementing new systems, maintaining existing infrastructure, and developing processes that support ongoing stability and scalability. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, a proactive mindset, and a passion for solving complex infrastructure challenges. You'll work hands-on in a collaborative environment, supporting high-availability systems and driving best practices in server management and virtualization. Key Responsibilities Manage daily operations and request queues, meeting service-level and performance goals. Support enterprise systems, including Windows, Linux, VMware, and Active Directory environments. Configure, deploy, and monitor servers and network-connected hardware. Develop and maintain scripts to automate system management and monitoring. Design and maintain server documentation, configuration maps, and system records. Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes for optimal performance. Conduct system and security audits, backups, and testing as part of business continuity plans. Address technical incidents quickly, coordinating with cross-functional teams and vendors when needed. Gather and report system performance metrics, implementing improvements where necessary. Participate in change control, incident management, and other ITIL-based processes. Qualifications Must be 21+ and legally authorized to work in the U.S. Bachelor's degree in IT, MIS, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Minimum 3 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure systems. Strong experience with Microsoft Server OS, Active Directory, Linux, VMware, and storage systems (RAID, SCSI). Solid understanding of high-availability solutions, clustering, and replication. Familiarity with regulated environments (MICS, PCI, SOX). Experience with AD, DNS, DHCP, NTP, SMTP, SFTP, SCP, SSH, IIS, and related network protocols. Proficiency in PowerShell scripting, batch commands, and performance monitoring tools. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. On-call availability required on a rotating schedule. Physical & Work Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and access various property areas as needed. Comfortable working in data center environments with varying noise, temperature, and humidity levels. Able to maintain composure under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace.
