Why This Role Matters Real-time communication sits at the heart of the Conquer platform. As our Senior Telephony Engineer, you will own and evolve the systems that power how sales teams connect with customers through calling, routing, and intelligent workflows directly inside Salesforce. This is not a maintenance role. You will play a critical part in shaping the future of our telephony architecture, improving reliability and performance, and building a modern, scalable calling experience that grows with our business. What You Will Do Design, build, and scale Conquer's telephony infrastructure and APIs Own integrations with providers such as Twilio and or SIP-based systems Improve call quality, reliability, latency, and overall system performance Develop intelligent call routing and dialing workflows integrated with Salesforce Troubleshoot and resolve real-time production issues across distributed systems Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer teams to shape the calling experience Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term telephony strategy Continuously improve system scalability, observability, and resilience What You Bring 5 plus years of backend software engineering experience Deep experience with telephony systems like openSIPS, Freeswitch, Twilio, SIP, WebRTC, or similar Strong understanding of real-time and distributed systems Proven ability to debug complex production issues including call drops, latency, and connectivity Experience designing scalable, resilient systems Strong understanding of infrastructure concepts including scalability, fault tolerance, and observability Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally Nice to Have Experience with Salesforce or CTI integrations Background in sales tech, contact center, or communications platforms Familiarity with messaging queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ Experience working in high-growth SaaS environments Exposure to telephony-related compliance considerations such as
TCPA, STIR
SHAKEN, call recording laws, and consent management and building systems with regulatory requirements in mind What Success Looks Like You have improved call reliability, performance, and uptime across the platform You have delivered scalable telephony features that enhance user workflows You design systems with infrastructure in mind, balancing performance, resilience, and maintainability Engineering and Product teams rely on you as the subject matter expert for telephony You proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact customers using strong observability and debugging practices You contribute to a clear, forward-looking telephony and infrastructure strategy You build systems with compliance in mind, ensuring telephony features align with relevant regulations such as call recording laws, consent management, and dialing requirements without slowing down innovation What We Offer Competitive Compensation. U.S.-based candidates can expect a range of $180,000 to $225,000 depending on experience and geography. Compensation for international candidates will be aligned with local market benchmarks.
