What to Expect Tesla is seeking a Quality Systems Engineer to develop and implement quality management systems at our LFP Cell Manufacturing site in Sparks, NV. This position will involve managing technicians (direct reports) for vision automation, production audits and project managing data science deliverables, to achieve quantifiable improvements to the Tesla quality systems. This hands-on role demands dependability, integrity, and a servant leadership approach to empower site teams while upholding our uncompromising high bar on safety, quality, and standards. Architect advanced integrated quality systems leveraging real-time data from Tesla's manufacturing platforms
Champion continuous improvement and first principles thinking to evolve systems beyond baseline requirements
Manage and mentor technicians who perform select system audits, ensuring consistent execution, reporting and problem solving
Conduct audits on compliance, system effectiveness, and performance, identifying gaps and driving corrective actions
Develop feedback loops, CAPA processes, and metrics monitoring to resolve issues proactively and prevent recurrence
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure preparedness for external regulatory audits (e.g. ISO 9001, compliance) and customer visits What You'll Bring
Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
5+ years in quality engineering, with experience establishing/auditing systems in global manufacturing/remanufacturing
Proven track record managing teams and conducting effective audits
Knowledge of quality standards (e.g.
ISO 9001
) and tools/methodologies (e.g. PFMEA, root cause analysis, CAPA)
Strong understanding of data analytics in manufacturing environments and fluency in conveying compelling narratives through data-driven storytelling
Servant leadership style, empowering others through guidance and strong communication
Impeccable judgment, uncompromising integrity on quality/safety, and resilience in dynamic environments
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification is a plus Compensation and Benefits
