Job Description

Shape the safety of every mile At AGC Glass Company North America in Bellefontaine, Ohio, we manufacture premium automotive safety glass for vehicle makers across the U.S. and abroad. Join a fast-paced, technology-driven, team-centered environment where your decisions directly elevate product quality and driver safety. A day in this role You start by reviewing overnight SPC signals and MSA findings from the line. A trend in optical distortion triggers a layered audit: you walk the process, verify gauges, and partner with production to test adjustments. After lunch, you lead a cross-functional huddle with engineering and supply chain to close the loop on a supplier-related variation. You finish by updating process flows, inspection reports, and corrective actions so lessons learned turn into institutionalized controls. What you will own Design, deploy, and sustain quality control systems and standard work that prevent defects and elevate capability. Plan and conduct audits, inspections, and product/process testing to ensure adherence to internal and external standards. Pinpoint improvement opportunities in manufacturing to reduce scrap, rework, and variation while improving yield and consistency. Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain to resolve quality issues at the root cause. Create and maintain quality documentation, including process maps/flows, inspection plans and reports, and corrective/preventive actions. Background that sets you up for success Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Operations Management, Engineering Management, Quality Management, or a closely related discipline; a master's in quality management or a similar field is preferred. 3-5 years in quality engineering or a closely aligned function within manufacturing. Working knowledge of automotive standards and regulations:
IATF 16949, ISO 9001, VOA, APQP.
Demonstrated use of process-improvement and problem-solving toolkits: Six Sigma, Lean, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis. Proven experience executing audits, inspections, and testing to verify compliance. Comfort with quality software and analytics tools, including Minitab or similar. Fluency with APQP, FMEA, PPAP, SPC, and MSA. Technical strengths Hands-on understanding of manufacturing processes, product design, and materials. Strong grasp of problem-solving, statistical analysis, quality metrics, and performance indicators. Ability to perform material/product/process testing and inspections. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, plus quality management tools such as ERP systems or SAP. Working knowledge of CAD and engineering drawing interpretation is advantageous. Familiarity with OEM portals is a plus.
