AWS/ Terraform Platform Engineer

Job Description Insight Global is looking for an AWS/ Terraform Platform Engineer to join a leading Fortune 150 client in a fully remote opportunity. We are building a foundational AWS platform for a large enterprise that enables internal engineering teams to move fast, securely, and consistently in AWS. This role is not cloud operations and not application support. You will join an agile, senior team responsible for designing and building an AWS platform

• the foundation, guardrails, and golden paths that other engineers use to deploy and manage their services. What You'll Do
• Design and build the AWS platform foundation used by internal engineering teams
• Own and develop Terraform modules that standardize how teams provision AWS infrastructure
• Create and maintain golden paths that allow engineers to deploy infrastructure safely and quickly
• Act as the governance and control layer for AWS usage by enforcing best practices through automation
• Abstract complex security requirements so teams are secure by default
• Enable self‑service AWS provisioning with guardrails — not tickets
• Partner closely with internal service owners who consume the platform
• Improve developer velocity by relentlessly eliminating manual work and operational toil
• Leverage AI tools to significantly increase development speed and quality

• 8+ years of experience as a senior, staff, or principal‑level engineer
• Proven experience building internal AWS platforms used by other engineers (not operating workloads)
• Deep AWS expertise in enterprise, multi‑account environments
• Strong, hands‑on Terraform experience, including building reusable, scalable modules and golden paths
• Experience acting as the governance layer for AWS (guardrails, standards, security by default)
• Automation‑first mindset with a track record of eliminating manual processes and developer toil
• Strong security fundamentals in AWS (IAM, networking, data security, secure‑by‑default design)
• Product mindset with full ownership of architecture and code (not a ticket‑driven role)
• T‑shaped engineer with exposure across platform, infrastructure, and SRE concepts
• Experience building Slack Bots
• Exposure to enterprise observability tools (e.

g., New Relic, Sentry)
