Cloud Infrastructure Architect (Azure / VMware) First Century Bank, N.A. First Century Bank is seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Architect to lead the design and operation of our hybrid cloud and datacenter environment. This is a hands-on architecture role combining technical leadership with direct engineering responsibility in a production environment. You will play a critical role in advancing the Bank's cloud strategy and ensuring secure, resilient, and high-performing infrastructure supporting core banking and fintech platforms. Key Responsibilities Design and manage hybrid cloud architecture across Microsoft Azure, VMware (vSphere/ESXi), on-premises infrastructure, and datacenter. Lead cloud adoption, system modernization, and infrastructure transformation initiatives Architect and support Azure Site Recovery (ASR) for disaster recovery and business continuity Administer and optimize VMware vSphere / ESXi environments, including clustering, performance tuning, and lifecycle management Oversee virtual machine lifecycle management (provisioning, patching, optimization, decommissioning) Manage backup and recovery solutions using Veeam, including replication, restore testing, and retention strategies Develop and maintain PowerShell automation to improve efficiency, consistency, and operational standards Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity; proactively identify and resolve risks and issues Partner with Information Security, Audit, and business teams to ensure compliance and alignment with regulatory requirements Maintain documentation, architecture diagrams, and disaster recovery runbooks Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems architecture, or cloud architecture 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and experience supporting VMware (vSphere/ESXi) environments, including design, deployment, and operations. Strong experience with enterprise infrastructure, including virtualization, storage, and datacenter environments Strong understanding of infrastructure resiliency, backup/recovery, monitoring, and patch management Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and performance issues Preferred Qualifications Experience in financial services, banking, or other regulated environments 4+ years of experience with PowerShell scripting and automation Experience with Azure governance, identity, monitoring, and cost optimization Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates) Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and enterprise networking concepts Experience with cloud migration and hybrid connectivity design First Century Bank is an equal opportunity employer.
