This role owns the complete cloud service lifecycle, from architecture design and platform engineering through operational governance and optimization. Primarily focused on Microsoft Azure, the Cloud Architect may also be required to design, manage, and support Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud platform environments to enable seamless multi-cloud integration and standardization across the enterprise. This position translates strategic vision into technical reality, delivering cloud solutions that are secure, cost-effective, resilient, and directly aligned with both clinical and business goals.
Nature and Scope Primary Responsibilities:
Cloud Architecture & Strategy Design and maintain scalable, multi-region cloud architectures (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) that ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and regulatory compliance Develop cloud-native patterns and "Golden Paths" that accelerate engineering velocity while minimizing technical debt Translate business and clinical requirements into actionable cloud roadmaps with clear dependencies, risk assessments, and financial impact analysis (FinOps) Platform Engineering & Automation Establish and enforce Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards using tools such as Terraform and Bicep to ensure consistent, repeatable, and auditable deployments Design and build robust CI/CD pipelines that automate cloud resource provisioning and application delivery In collaboration with our security group, architect and manage identity and access management (IAM) frameworks that enforce least-privilege security principles across all cloud environments Engineer and optimize cloud networking solutions including VPNs, ExpressRoute/Direct Connect, load balancers, and service mesh architectures Build and maintain automation tooling and self-service platforms that empower engineering teams to provision and manage cloud resources efficiently Operations & Observability Define and implement comprehensive observability standards including logging, monitoring, and alerting to ensure optimal performance and reliability of cloud workloads Provide Tier 3 engineering support for complex cloud incidents, outages, and performance issues, including root cause analysis and remediation Lead operational readiness reviews and post-incident retrospectives to drive continuous improvement Conduct regular cost-optimization reviews and implement technical solutions to rationalize cloud spending, including rightsizing, reserved capacity, and architectural improvements Perform proactive capacity planning and performance tuning to maintain service levels and prevent degradation Collaborate with security and compliance teams to remediate vulnerabilities and maintain operational security posture This position does not provide patient care Disclaimer The foregoing description is not intended to be, and should not be construed as, an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, efforts, or working conditions associated with the job. Preferred Name Description Education:
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform job duties safely and effectively. Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience required.
Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in years in progressively architecture or engineering roles. Demonstrated experience managing or architecting solutions within cloud complex ecosystems with high availability. (healthcare preferred). License(s): None Certification(s): Recommended (not required)
Microsoft Certified:
Azure Solutions Architect Expert. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Google Professional Cloud Architect Computer /
Typing:
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
