9258 Overview The central Office of Information Technology at Auburn University is seeking applicants for the role Infrastructure Systems Engineer! In this position, you will assists in the administration of diverse private and public cloud-based applications. Candidates are required to upload a resume and cover letter with their application. Responsibilities Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Provide application management and administration for private and public cloud-hosted applications. Use industry-standard monitoring tools to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities on an ongoing basis. Monitor and report on system security and utilization. Investigate infrastructure or application performance problems. Perform application installation, maintenance, training, and support as required. Document and maintain established backup and disaster recovery processes and procedures. In addition, this position will work closely with both IT personnel and end-users from a number of different disciplines and backgrounds. After-hours and on-call responsibilities should be expected. The ideal candidate applies systems thinking, possesses superior interpersonal and communication skills, is self-motivated, and is a life-long learner. Must have demonstrated experience and success working both in a collaborative team environment. Requires excellent interpersonal communication skills. Must also be skilled at organizing, prioritizing, and managing multiple concurrent tasks and/or projects Working onsite is a requirement of the job. May work up to 2 days hybrid remote in local area with supervisor's approval. Qualifications Associate Systems Engineer (MA45): Bachelor's degree + 0 years of experience OR Associate's degree + 4 years of experience OR High school diploma or equivalent + 8 years of experience Systems Engineer (MA46) Bachelor's degree + 3 years of experience OR Associate's degree + 7 years of experience OR High school diploma or equivalent + 11 years of experience
Scope of Experience:
Relevant IT experience in the administration of distributed computer systems, preferably in a university setting.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience managing SaaS applications in a complex environment. Experience with infrastructure administration, data management and storage service metrics Experience proactively monitoring server infrastructure for capacity, utilization, and performance thresholds.
