Platform Engineer (Backstage)

We are hiring a Platform Engineer (Backstage) to join our client remotely! Responsibilities Develop and customize Backstage (plugins, catalog, scaffolder) to support developer workflows Design self-service tooling and improve overall developer experience Build and manage cloud infrastructure (AWS/Google Cloud Platform) and Kubernetes environments Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Kubernetes-based tools (e.g., Crossplane) Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) and manage artifacts (JFrog) Apply SRE principles (SLOs, monitoring, reliability) using tools like Datadog Automate workflows and solve complex system issues across distributed environments Contribute to API development and follow SDLC best practices

Qualifications/Technical Skills Needed:

Experience working as a Platform Engineer, DevOps, or Software Engineer Experience with Backstage Strong coding skills (TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, React, NodeJS) Cloud experience (AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform) and Kubernetes Proficiency with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines Experience with Docker, observability tools, and troubleshooting distributed systems Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, Texas. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
