DESCRIPTION
Recognize, articulate, and make technical decisions/trade-offs around multiple dimensions (scaling, reliability, performance, maintenance) that have an impact on the team. Design, develop, test, and debug software applications. Deliver software on-time and constantly work to make accurate estimates and deliver on those estimates. Provide technical support of products including working with the MES MOL team for direct customer support and escalated issues. Work with technical writing staff to document product behavior and implementation details. Collaborate with team members on how to approach and prioritize development efforts. Understand and proactively follow team processes, documentation, best practices, and code style guides. Communicate technical work through design documents and tech talks. Identify areas for improvement at the program or team level in technical systems or processes, and drive resolutions in collaboration with teammates. Function as an effective technical mentor for one or more junior developers and provide technical guidance across the team. Take an active role in recruiting new developers.
Telecommuting:
Hybrid (3 days in office / 2 days remote).
REQUIREMENTS
This position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or in a related field and 12 years of experience as a Software Engineer, IT Project Manager, or a related occupation. Must have experience with the following skills: (1) SDLC, including release to operations and production; (2) Writing software using C++, C# .NET Framework, .NET Core, COM/DCOM; (3) Writing SQL store procedure, DB Schema/optimization; (4) Developing enterprise-wide scalable and highly available systems using Messaging Queues, Microservice/Service Oriented Architectures; and (5) Software analyses & design tools such as UML, design patterns.
RATE OF PAY
$184,558 - 236,900 per year

Leverage specialized knowledge of AVEVA's proprietary products like Dabacon database, DevOps, and Unified Engineering products, and our hosting cloud platform and its integration with AWS and AZURE to provide continuous integration and delivery of cloud-enabled products and solutions. Provide timely and effective response to incidents to minimize the impact on our customers and work with development teams, portfolio management, and customer success management to ensure the applications are operational, secure, stable, and scalable. Oversee deployment and continuous monitoring to ensure various cloud-specific customer requirements/SLAs are met. Utilize experience to continually improve the security posture of AVEVA's Cloud solutions, as well as lead and implement improvements to the deployment process and our monitoring and reporting capabilities. Support and guide development teams and create best practice templates and processes. Provide timely and effective response to incidents, to minimize the impact on our customers and keep colleagues updated as required. Work with development teams to advise and contribute to cloud architecture, operational stability, security, cost management and reporting requirements for our cloud solutions. Independently learn, gain expertise, and then lead implementations of new capabilities and tools supporting infrastructure governance and monitoring. Continually develop and improve DevOps processes, adding value through optimization, automation, and effective reporting. Proactively manage cloud environments to minimize service impacting issues, including infrastructure such as code, certificates, storage, health status, backup status etc. Ensure new services meet required operational readiness standards before being accepted into operation. Maintain on-going compliance with practices and policies. Provide subject matter expertise to business stakeholders as required. For monitoring and security functions, employee will monitor & support AVEVA's proprietary, in-house built cloud solutions and applications. This includes reviewing AVEVA's internal monitoring/telemetry (logs, metrics, alerts), performing incident response to minimize customer impact, and working directly with AVEVA development teams to troubleshoot and remediate issues within codebase and platform. From security perspective, they will help maintain and improve security posture of these AVEVA systems by validating secure deployment configurations, ensuring appropriate access controls and certificate/secret management, reviewing security-related events, and driving remediation of identified vulnerabilities/misconfigurations in line with customer SLAs & internal policies. •
Dabacon:
AVEVA's internal database for storing and managing complex engineering and project data. •
DevOps:
the tools and processes used to build, test, and reliably release AVEVA software updates. • Unified Engineering products: AVEVA engineering software that integrates multiple engineering disciplines into a single, coordinated workflow. The employee's role involves using knowledge of these products and AVEVA's cloud platform (integrated with AWS and Azure) to support continuous integration, delivery, and operational stability. Guide development teams on secure, cost-effective cloud architecture, independently learn and implement new monitoring tools, and continually improve operational processes and reporting capabilities.

REQUIREMENTS
This position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Applied Computer Science, or in a related field and 8 years of experience as a Software Developer, Computer Systems Engineer, R D Technical Staff, or in a related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with the following skills: (1) Azure and AWS; (2) Authentication and authorization protocols such as OpenID Connect; (3) DNS, TLS and network architecture; (4) Web application security principles and practices, or penetration testing; (5) Cloud Platform development and security; and (6) On-call and customer support with the focus on operations.
RATE OF PAY
