Job Title:
Cloud Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
Location:
Charlotte, NC - hybrid onsite 3 days a week
Pay Rate:
$60 - $80/hr. •This contract role is not open to 3 rd parties•
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a technology operations team supporting a large-scale infrastructure modernization initiative. This position will play a key role in strengthening disaster recovery capabilities, supporting data center transition activities, and enhancing the resilience of business-critical applications across cloud and hybrid environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the planning and implementation of disaster recovery solutions for enterprise applications and supporting infrastructure. Assist with migration activities related to data center consolidation, infrastructure modernization, and recovery platform transitions. Evaluate and improve recovery architectures to meet business continuity and service availability requirements. Contribute to backup, recovery, and failover strategies across cloud and hybrid technology environments. Coordinate and execute disaster recovery exercises and recovery validation activities. Verify recovery procedures, restoration processes, and application dependencies. Document test results, findings, and recommendations for remediation. Work with stakeholders to address identified risks and strengthen recovery readiness. Support operational activities across cloud-hosted and hybrid infrastructure platforms. Collaborate with engineering teams to implement and maintain backup, monitoring, and resiliency solutions. Develop and maintain operational runbooks, recovery procedures, and technical documentation. Assist in the continuous improvement of platform reliability and operational efficiency. Partner with application owners, infrastructure engineers, vendors, and security teams throughout project execution. Track project milestones, technical dependencies, and operational risks. Provide regular status updates and support governance and compliance requirements where applicable.
Required Qualifications:
Experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Disaster Recovery, and Cloud environments. Strong understanding of disaster recovery planning, backup technologies, and business continuity practices. Hands-on experience supporting enterprise infrastructure in cloud, hybrid, or multi-platform environments. Familiarity with infrastructure migration projects, operational readiness activities, and service resiliency frameworks. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within structured project timelines. Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting data center migration, consolidation, or facility exit initiatives. Knowledge of cloud-native backup, replication, and recovery technologies. Experience working within regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or insurance. Familiarity with infrastructure automation, monitoring, and observability tools.
