About the
Role:
We're building the next generation technologies that will power CrowdStrike for the next ten years - and we need a leader who can help us build the team that builds them. As Senior Manager of Cloud Engineering, you'll join a fast-moving, early-stage team taking a blank-slate approach to scaling our systems and using AI to stop breaches.
This is not a purely people management role. You'll be deeply embedded in the technical work - leading code reviews, driving architecture discussions and owning operational readiness - while simultaneously expanding and developing a growing engineering team.Note:
This is a hybrid role based out of our offices in Redmond, WA, Sunnyvale, CA, Austin, TX, or NYC with an expectation of being in the office at least 2 days per week.What You'll Do:
Step into an early-stage team that is partly in place and help shape, grow and scaleLead code reviews, architecture discussions and operational readiness reviewsDefine and drive the technical direction for significant components of our next-generation cloud architecture, collaborating with our most senior technologistsPartner closely with desktop agent and AI teamsOwn and deliver large-scale, cross-functional engineering projects - from technical and architecture planning through to execution and accountabilityChampion continuous improvement through design reviews, post-mortems and engineering best practicesHire, develop and retain exceptional engineersFoster a culture that mirrors the best engineering traits: comfort with ambiguity, propensity to action and strong cross-team collaborationWhat You'll Need:
B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field5+ years of experience managing engineers, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teamsHands-on experience building and operating high-volume, highly resilient Tier-1 cloud services and systemsStrong knowledge of Go, Java or similar technologiesDemonstrated ability to own and deliver large, complex engineering projects across multiple teams and stakeholdersProven ability to operate with ambiguity and make sound technical decisions with limited informationStrong sense of ownership and accountability for what your team builds and shipsExperience driving technical decisions and alignment across groups with competing prioritiesAbility to communicate complex technical ideas in writing and verballyBonus Points:
