II / III
(Linux, Testing & Automation)Location:
Englewood CO (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)Employment Type:

SE II (3-5 yrs): $40- 48/hour SE III (5+ yrs): $48

Overview:
Our Fortune 500 telecommunications client is seeking a Systems EngineerII / III
to join a highly collaborative engineering team focused on lab operations, testing, and automation initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with a strong Linux foundation who is interested in expanding into automation and DevOps-style work. You'll work in a lab environment that mirrors production, helping ensure systems and services are validated before going live.Responsibilities:
- Support lab environments tied to network and service provisioning
- Troubleshoot Linux systems, network configurations, and provisioning issues
- Execute and validate test plans for new features and releases
- Identify, document, and track defects and system issues
- Write and maintain Python and/or Bash scripts to automate workflows
- Assist with CI/CD pipeline efforts and automation improvements
- Perform code deployments and release installs in lab environments
- Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and architecture teams
- Document processes, results, and system behaviors Day-to-Day Breakdown (Approximate):
- ~30% Linux systems support and lab troubleshooting
- ~50-60% testing and validation of new features and releases
- ~10-20% scripting and automation (Python/Bash, CI/CD exposure) This is a hybrid role — ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on systems work and is interested in growing into automation and DevOps.
Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years (SE II) or 5-7+ years (SE III) of experience in Linux systems administration
- Strong troubleshooting skills in lab or production environments
- Experience with Python and/or Bash scripting
- Exposure to testing, validation, or QA processes
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly Nice to
Have:
- Experience with test automation frameworks
- Exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc.)
- Familiarity with AWS or cloud environments
- Java exposure
- Experience working in lab, NOC, or test environments
