Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Splunk Engineer to support enterprise logging and monitoring initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Splunk architecture, data onboarding, and operational monitoring, with the ability to design scalable solutions and collaborate across teams to enhance system observability and performance. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain scalable and highly available Splunk environments Onboard and validate data sources including network, cloud, server, and application logs Develop and optimize Splunk searches using Search Processing Language (SPL) Create dashboards, alerts, and visualizations to provide actionable insights Configure and manage Splunk components such as indexers, search heads, forwarders, and clusters Perform field extraction, source type configuration, and data normalization Manage Splunk Technology Add-ons (TAs) and ensure alignment with Common Information Model (CIM) Monitor and troubleshoot system performance and data ingestion issues Implement alerting strategies including real-time alerts, anomaly detection, and alert tuning Automate Splunk environment management using DevOps practices Collaborate with development, operations, and testing teams to improve integration and deployment processes Lead technical discussions, workshops, and requirement-gathering sessions Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Required Qualifications Minimum 8+ years of hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise or Splunk Cloud Strong experience designing and implementing Splunk architecture (indexers, search heads, cluster master, forwarders) Advanced proficiency in SPL, including writing optimized and scalable queries Experience with data onboarding, including source type design, field extraction, and index strategy Experience with Splunk Technology Add-ons (TAs) and CIM mapping Experience building dashboards, alerts, and KPI-driven visualizations Experience with DevOps automation for Splunk environments Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud-native log sources Experience with security tools such as EDR, IAM, firewalls, or IDS/IPS Experience with Splunk Cloud FedRAMP environments Splunk certifications such as Architect, Admin, or Certified Consultant
